One of the most disturbing objects to emerge from the Obama administration has been the recent commencement of www.attackwatch.com.
A site designed with express purpose of having the population of the United States report any attacks or resistance to the polices of the White House to the powers-that-be. Indeed, such a website seems similar to something of a modern-day attempt at turning the United States into Nazi Germany. Even the website’s coloring, black and red, brings to mind the image of the red Nazi banner with the black cross at its heart.
What was the President thinking when he authorized such a website to go live? Better yet, what was the President thinking when he was given the idea for the website in the first place?
He didn’t think:
“Maybe this violates the first or fourth amendments to the Constitution?”
OR:
“I didn’t like the Patriot Act, so maybe if I don’t like the NSA doing it, I probably shouldn’t like the US citizenry attempting to spy on one another.”
OR EVEN:
“Promoting a website like this from the White House sure does look a lot like an attempt at a dictatorship.”
AND last but not least:
“Maybe people have the freedom to disagree with my opinions, policies, and positions on things.”
Instead, the President seems hell bent at bringing the ugly underbelly of Chicago politics to the national stage. Thug tactics, class warfare, and violent rhetoric that will polarize the country. We must stick together, trust our fellow Americans to see this man for what he really is, and begin rebuilding the foundation of America one brick at a time.

Such an evocative statement from the Lord of the Rings, considering the current circumstances under which America seems to be finding herself. The rift between conservative Americans and liberal Americans seems to be spreading, and the massive canyon that is being generated between them is very dangerous.
It seems to me that a dark shroud is coming over America. Socialism, in its purest form, does nothing to incentivize human beings to be productive, there is no motive. Healthcare shifts the burden of caring for oneself from themselves, to the government and the wealthy. This is the culmination of a disturbing trend in American politics towards vast entitlement programs for American citizens provided by the government.
This is why it is imperative for America to return to her roots as a capitalist economy lightly regulated by a Federal government using only its enumerated powers. America is not faultless and not incapable of being turned into a Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. All the stands between the American people and tyranny is a document over 200 years old, which is being more frequently ignored by the populace it protects and the government it creates.
As a result, it is time to re-invigorate the Constitution of the United States with the powers it was given at the beginning, and has hence been amended to contain. Failure to do so, I fear, will result in tyranny replacing freedom.

Went up to Wofford today to watch the game. Saw a bunch of awesome folks up there, and was not only glad to see them, but to see them still out supporting a struggling football team. Wofford really does have absolutely fabulous people there.
Unfortunately, Wofford didn’t play so well again. Elon won 34-6, but I’ll say this now: this season will make this program better for the next 3 years. You need to heat and weaken the steel in order to fashion a strong blade. This season the blacksmith will heat the blade and weaken this team temporarily, so that a sharp blade is fashioned out of this team for 2010. Unfortunately, that’s little concession for those Seniors on this year’s team. I wish them nothing but success.

These are arguably two of the most difficult words in the English language to master. You get thrown into the fire by professors who spit foreign concepts at your from all different directions, all the while attempting to merely hold on for dear life, take in what they are saying, and write a damn memo.
Now, I know why everyone told me the first year is like going through hell. All you can do is hope you come out on the other side with your sanity intact and a new way of thinking…
